The New Mercedes Of 2013

For next year Mercedes is going to be introducing significant updates for each and every vehicle that ranges from the base C Class Sedan right up to the SLS AMG supercar.

Additionally, on top of these model changes Mercedes will be expanding its use of the Mbrace telematics feature by having it as standard on all models.

SL550

The new 2013 Mercedes Benz SL Class will feature a brand new design which has been inspired by the SLS Roadster. It will still harbor its long hood whilst in the new version the body will be constructed fully of aluminum. This will make it Mercedes first all aluminum bodied car whilst the result will be in 275 pound in weight reduction.

The new version will have a marked improvement in performance too; they claim it will knock off 0.8 off the time it takes to go from 0 – 60 mph, which results in just 4.5 seconds compared to the outgoing cars 5.3 seconds.

SL63 AMG

Having been released this month the new 2013 SL63 AMG is available with two different power outputs, the 5.5 litre V8 turbocharged AMG engine brings an enormous 537hp . However if you decide to select the AMG performance package you can expect 564hp which offers more power than any other competitor in this category of car.

It brings superb high end performance, capitulated with an incredible acceleration of 0 to 100 kmh in just 4.2 or 4.3 seconds, then to 200 kmh in 12.9 or 12.6 respectively.

The top speed is limited at 250kmh or at 300kmh in the performance package. Fuel consumption is identical for each at 9.9 litres in 100 kilometres which is an excellent 30 percent lower than the previous model.

As you can see the new model has further improved on the former model, more power, more performance and more pure fun. Prices start at around £150,000 and you can find out more by visiting .

SL65 AMG

The final car we will be taking a look at is the new SL65 AMG model, and there are very few cars that can befit the phrase “an iron fist in a velvet glove”. The SL65 will roar back into the market around October and take its place right back at the top of the 2013 SL Class lineup.

The engine is still a V12 which has been tuned to output a 621 hp with 738 ft of torque. These figures may not be a monstrous increase over the previous model, however due to many key refinements such as a fully aluminum body, the performance should be greatly improved.

The AMG has been rumored to have a 0-60 mph timing of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph while it weighs at around 4,300 pounds.

Much like the newer models of all of the others in the SL range, the fully aluminum body has shed over 250 pounds in weight and has allowed for a much improved fuel consumption, quicker acceleration, better handling and improved braking too.

This has left many of us licking our lips in anticipation; with just a few months to go until release this is the car Mercedes know will keep them firmly at the top in this niche.
