Jaguar C-X75 Hybrid Supercar is the Concept Car of the Year

The high-performance Jaguar C-X75 received top honors last night at the 10th annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards in Detroit, MI, where the stunning range extended supercar was named the Most Significant Concept Vehicle of 2011 in addition to receiving the Concept Car of the Year award.

The C-X75 received the highest overall score among the segment winners in the Car, Truck and Production Preview categories, to earn the night’s coveted award. This marks the first Most Significant Concept Vehicle honor for the brand and the third Concept Vehicle award. The Jaguar ALC concept won in 2005 and the C-XF in 2007. read more »

Jaguar can today confirm that it will launch the remarkable C-X75 concept car as an exclusive hybrid supercar.

Jaguar C-X75 will become the British marque’s most advanced model to date. Porsche to Sell 918 Hybrid Supercar

After outstanding customer response to the concept car first shown at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche today announced that dealers around the world will begin taking 918 Spyder customer orders. This is a significant step toward actual production of the company’s next super sports car, a Porsche that marries unique plug-in hybrid technology and outstanding performance in a visually stunning and purely Porsche package.

The 918 Spyder will feature a high revving 500- horsepower V8 engine assisted by two electric motors with a total of at least 218 horsepower, yet Porsche estimates it will consume only 3.0 L/100 km based on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).  Official EPA fuel economy figures or estimates will be announced just before the first customer cars begin arriving inthe United States near the end of 2013.
